Tributes
My first special tribute
-a video clip of me playing a tribute to my ‘Sis’
**********************************
Here’s another special tribute that I have received,
and stay in touch with the volunteer.
(this is what arrived in the package)
Heard you on KRVN…
THERE IS A BANDAID FOR THE HEART medal for you in the pkg
This is a bandaid for your heart for all your past pain
…and to show you have a heart for a vet
I used to call these Healing Heart medals but Vietnam Vets here renamed it ‘The Bandaid For The Heart’.
I hope you’ve listened to the song andread the poem about the medal on www.veteransmusicministry.com
(this explains the medal )
Bandaid=thanks for serving your country / for losses endured
Wristwatch=it’s TIME to welcome home Vietnam/era Vets
Polished=like the 26 traveling walls I’ve volunteered at for the past 2 years
GOD’s healing touch for whatever ails you
(someone told me the medal looks like the belt buckle you had to polish, but I don’t put that in my story – smile)
For bikers, it’s a highway with a pot-hole and a puddle,
(sometimes we have those (potholes and puddles) in our lives
God IS the bandaid,
That’s their biker blessing for the day
Some of the words to my theme song:
(it was the theme song of OPERATION HOMECOMING I/II)
Understand the tears that sometimes flow
For things he’ll never share
And hopes you’ll never know
But he loves his country
From sea to shining sea
And he paid the price
And sacrificed
So his children could be free
He’s a soldier
A brother
A young man who left his childhood home
He’s a hero
For thing we’ll never know
It’s been a long time comin’
Welcome Home
It’s been a long time comin’………………………….
Welcome Home

As I read about all you have done in your life, and then watch you day to day, I am continually amazed at the talent God gave you in so many areas. I think somedays you don’t know which road to follow. I love you with my whole heart, and as long as you keep God as the first stop on your list each day, you will always be blessed. I know I have been blessed by having you in my life. I love you and I am so proud to be a part of your life … Michele
